Notes from the Campaign Trail

If you grab a cat by the tail and hang on tight, you learn things you can’t learn any other way.

Mark Twain said that and I suspect it was right after he had a premonition of Brad Little running for a third term as governor. Who’s got the cat by the tail? Is it the governor running after zero-funding a brutal wildfire season, while trying to sneak nuclear waste into Idaho, after selling public lands used by a ranch family to his Hollywood billionaire donors?

Or is it the scratched up Idahoans who once thought Mr. Little was on our side?

While Mr. Little side-steps and blusters and gaslights, I am having an amazing experience just telling the truth. My campaign to return Idaho to regular folks is going well–VERY WELL!

This month, we’ll pass 2,000 separate contributions from well over 1,000 folks. (Maybe you’re the 2,000?

I’ve met tons of tireless volunteers. So many people are following my campaign, writing letters and emails, talking to neighbors. We’re telling Mr. Little and his powerful allies the same thing:

That’s our freedom you’ve been taking and we intend to take it back.

I recall one stop in Boise County early this year that captures the mood. Folks there were glad to meet me because I am holding the county officials accountable for failing to investigate a Boise County Commissioner’s role in a knife attack on a mom and her teenage kids on a Payette River whitewater rafting day-trip. I took the fight off the beach and into the courtroom.

That’s the fearless commitment to justice and transparency that every Idahoan can expect when I am governor.

And, I’ve been pleased with news coverage. I was on KTVB-TV last week holding Brad Little accountable because he’s “...  gaslighting Idahoans because his math doesn’t math.”

People are keen to know that when I am governor, I am not going to let the federal government use our beautiful state as the nation’s nuclear waste dumpsite–which is a shady deal that Brad Little is trying to sneak past us.

It's been a long campaign–one that I have LOVED because I have so many new friends. With 70-some days until Election Day, the wind at my back is turning into a hurricane for Mr. Little.

Please join me and help get the word out. Thanks so much for your vote and your support.
