Statement on Gov. Little signing HB345
Governor Little’s decision to sign House Bill 345 is a blatant attack on voter-approved Medicaid expansion. This bill’s cruel work requirements will rip health care away from thousands of Idahoans—patients battling serious illness, workers who’ve lost their jobs, and caregivers looking after sick family members. Over 100,000 Idahoans, many from low-income families with children, rely on this care.
Stripping Medicaid from those who need it isn’t about encouraging work—it’s about cutting people off. Just like in other states, the red tape is designed to make sure people lose coverage.
Idahoans overwhelmingly said yes to Medicaid expansion. The Idaho GOP just told them, too bad. This isn’t leadership—it’s cruelty. And voters need to hold them accountable.
