It’s not chaos. It’s beta testing.

The tyrants who led Iran made the world more dangerous and more cruel. I am glad they are gone. I also believe we are not safer today to have a president who starts wars without approval of the U.S. Congress.

Trump’s outlandish decisions are no longer a mystery–it was never chaos; it was beta testing.

First, Trump takes outrageous action.

Second, he gauges the fallout.

Third, if not punished, he repeats the outrage in a greater way.

Think of all that Trump did leading up to this war of choice without congressional approval.

Bombed Venezuelan boats–no consequences. “Double-tapped” (killed) survivors–no consequences. Attacked Venezuela–no consequences. And, he bombed Iran and declared them nuclear-free last year–no consequences. So, he has started a war in the Middle East.

Trump’s beta-testing pattern is in full swing on our own soil.

He took over “blue” cities with federal forces. His ICE agents violate our Constitutional rights. His “War Department” clearly wants Artificial Intelligence to track all Americans. And Trump has said he wants to federalize elections.

So far, Trump’s power is undiminished by the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. ICE agents remain masked. Prisons are springing up. Americans are forced to produce “their papers.”

You don’t need a vivid imagination to picture what outrage follows that.

As I campaign for governor, Idahoans tell me they are focused on the cost of food, housing, and health care. They want enough money leftover for some fun and some savings. They don’t want to have to fight to keep their government from taking the freedoms we were all born with.

So, when I share concerns about President Trump, I am telling you who I am, what I believe, and, hopefully, giving you some reason to help me tackle the problems that matter most.

Let’s work together to create the leadership Idaho, and our nation, needs.
